Bomrani was formed in 2008 by lead singer and guitarist Behzad Omrani, who performed under the name "Bomani." After his solo album Yellow Sky, Blue Sun in 2010, he met harmonica/trumpet player Mani Mozaka and guitarist Jahanyar Ghorbani, officially forming the band. Over time, keyboardist Arash Omani, bassist Kiarash Omrani, and drummer Abtin Vaghmaeian joined. Their early songs were compiled in the unofficial album Naked Socks, and they also took part in charity projects and theater productions, earning recognition as one of Tehran’s most active music groups in 2011.
Bomrani's theatrical compositions gained wide appeal, leading to a commission by Chekeh Records to produce a children's album. This resulted in Red Bus, released in 2014 to great acclaim. That same year, they began working on Common Vent, which launched in 2015 with concerts in Tehran, Shiraz, Esfahan, and Rasht. Their performances, especially at Azadi Concert Hall, were praised for high-quality sound and creative stage design, solidifying their place in Iran’s independent music scene.
Following the Common Vent tour, the band began working on new material. Drummer Abtin Vaghmaeian left during this period but contributed to several new tracks. In January 2017, Bomrani released Leaving and Passing By, which quickly gained attention and was supported by successful live shows. Later that year, drummer Salar Asghari joined the group, helping carry their evolving sound into the next chapter of their musical journey.
